Hey, I hear there is a new snowboard brand launching next winter.
It's called Borealis Snowboards and it's based in France. Apparently, they make freeride and all-mountain boards. They will soon post images of the boards on their website.
Could be worth checking them out!

at least you didn't post a link. It's less spammy that way.

What's going to make them different from the other freeride brands out there? What will make me want to buy them?

I've found there's very few manufacturers out there that build what I want in a board (I'll reserve my request list for later lol).

I even asked a Canadian custom board company if they'd build me what I want, but they didn't have any BX cores left so they said they couldn't.

Borealis Snowboards - What makes them different

Hi Poutanen,

Here's what makes the boards different:

- Bamboo/FSC poplar core
- Bamboo topsheet
- Bamboo sidewalls
- Carbon strings
- New shape
- Super ligtht weight

They have about 40% less plastic than other boards.

New progressive camrock that makes you litterally glide on powder.

Amongst other things... :)

Thanks,

The shape looks like a longer sidecut radius with some powder stick tips? I'm down with the longer sidecut radius, but for my preference I like blunted tips (yes even in powder).

Anyway seems like you've got something a little different there. Should make some decent freeride sticks.

Also, my personal favorite camber profile is a mild camber base with about 12" of lifted tip at the front.

I've got a board with those specs right now and love it. Longer sidecut and blunted tips gives me over 140 cm of effective edge on a 160 cm board (great for carving hardpack), but the wide nose, taper, and rockered front end make it really fun in powder...

Just wish more companies would make that kinda board! :dunno:

So you have boards being made in the Yaquii factory?

No offense but none of that shit differentiates you from any other company.
