What was the Battle of the Brands shit storm?Might be because of the whole fiasco on here with the NS reviews/free boards given to certain members (or whatever it was, I didn't follow it) and then the shit storm with Battle of the Brands. Either way, who cares just ride whatever you like.
Annual Snowboard Magazine feature where different brands submit videos and people vote on them 'tournament style'. NS clip was deemed to be pretty half-assed and poorly edited this year, but still made it to the final - and closely lost there to Arbor. What was the Battle of the Brands shit storm?
Yea, it seemed more about the brand and boards then the video. Most comments refered to the love for the company or board, not the video. Some people took it too serious.Yeah Arbor team got real bitchy on Facebook. NS treated the video part like a joke. It's just a facebook contest.
Yes the contest was about who had the best video but they hid that fact. It's really a popularity contest.
Price gave my SL the nod over those two. :thumbsup:In terms of the SL, in my opinion the introduction of the Proto and the Cobra have essentially made the board obsolete. Both give you similar flex patterns. Go with the Proto if you want a true twin or go with the Cobra if you want the slight setback. The carbonium topsheets and blunted tips give them the nod over the SL.
IMO after riding both the 2013 Proto & Cobra both for a few days each I found the SL was the happy medium between the two... Do I wish the SL had the Carbonium top sheet? Sure I do but does it matter all that much? Not really...Price gave my SL the nod over those two.
