I have ridden Northwave Decade for the past 4 seasons. Their size is 11.5(US), 45(EU), 295cm. I want to replace them with Ride Trident or Insano. I know that the best boot is the one that fits your foot best but I do not have access to Ride boots in my country so I have to make an online purchase.
So my question is should I go for the same size with Ride? Has anyone worn these boots so they can compare? I felt pretty comfortable in my Northwaves but I want a smaller footprint boot.
I went from Northwave Prophecy to Ride Fuse boots, and kept the same size. Wore sz 8 in both, and the sizing and fit are fairly similar in my opinion. And yes, the overall profile of the Ride boots is MUCH less than the bulky ass Northwave boots
Bought Ride Trident but forgot to update. I also confirm that the sizing is the same. Probably Ride are a little bit narrower but that's not a biggie. All in all one should be looking after the mondo size (the length of their foot measured in cm or mm) when buying new boots as the US/UK/EU numeration might differ from one manufacturer to another.
I am considering bying Ride trident boots too instead of my old Northwave decade. Could you please compare the footprint on your old and new boots? or at least what is the length outersole length for the Trident?
I would say Trident's outersole is about 3mm shorter. You can see how lifted the heel of the Trident is. I guess this reduces the chance of a heel drag compared to the Decade.
