PNW meet-up March '17

We'll visit PNW next spring and will be in Bend mid March :yahoo:

Who's in for a meet-up at Mt. Bachelor Sat 11th or Sun 12th March?

So dope chomps!!! Shredding with the legend himself (wrath), only thing missing in this thread is a photo of you in those taped up creepy basement tights ;)

Mighty super of wrath to look after you on your visit up there. Some of you SBF folk are just downright awesome.

Well,.. I managed to Make a last minute SBF hook-up & a new friend today on my last day at Baker!! @Varza & her husband. (...He's the "skier" we appear to be ostracizing!) >:)


We met up this morning at The lodge & made plans to meet for lunch at the Raven and take a few laps after!! Super nice, Awesome couple! (...despite the "mixed" marriage!) :laugh: ;)

Had a blast riding with her, Wrathful leading the way!! The weather stayed cold overnight,.. So the groomers were soft, fast & smooth for the most part,.. Visibility was GREAT!!! And to top it all off after the POW day yesterday,.. The clouds lifted & I finally got to see Mt. Baker in all it's glory!!! :jumping1:




A perfect ending to an AWESOME trip!!


(…btw, Varza did much better handling herself in the stashes of leftover fresh than I did!) ;) :thumbsup:

Heh. As long as it's not a portable AED in the close proximity with you, you're good.

@Argo, Seriously ripping edit! You guys fly and make it look like it's your day job. The Madonna flips were particularly impressive. :surprise:

I'm stoked to see these kinds of forum meet-ups. Looks like a very warm group to enjoy the turns with.

Wow! Those mts look glorious! So glad you got some sweet conditions up there.

It continued to rain at Crystal 2 days. But we got one bluebird with nice view on Mt. Rainier and deep mushed corn in trees riding all over the mtn with locals. The tree runs at Crystal were simply awesome! Steep pitch, spaced pines... must be a blast in light pow!

Yesterday it began to snow hard and it was amazing like within some hours, the groomers were already covered by freshies.
We certainly have to come back when PNW is in prime season with snow instead of rain. The terrain is soooo sweet.

We were lucky to get a view on Mt. Rainier:

At noon, the rained on frozen crusts made for sweet corn runs in trees

The options on this mtn seem endless




Next day, the it begun to dump :=D





We loved our stay at PNW! We'll certainly be back in a period of the season when there'll be snow. Such beautiful mtns, the beer is awesome, I totally got addicted to nachos and we met so many lovely ppl!

@neni and mr neni...watching you 2 rip...helped me up my game...thanks!!! It was really great to meet you two and I'd love to ride with ya all again.

@Varza is well on her way to being another pnw shredette...don't move to Texas

Chomps was a great about getting spanked and his perceptions changed. However, he now has no excuse, has been duly warned about what he's getting into out here...and will need to budget in more $ for last one down (or is the first one down...lol) buying the beers. Truly, Idk how he puts up with 300-500 ft of cow pasture vert in the midwest....I'd be switching to lebowski cosmic bowling.

Much respect to Chomps, he hung in there, was a trooper and didn't complain...despite not having much of a choice in the matter. He couldn't see, didn't know where we were going (don't think he ever did look at a trail map and in poor judgement---trusted me :hairy:)...it was a mellow ungroomed cat track leading to the Canyon :surprise: And by that time was waaay too far/deep to hike out...so down we went >:). Chomps rocked Blood Alley, survived the Canyon and slashed a double black NorthFace only making 2-3 turns. He did great, kept his anxiety contained....and despite huge a boulder on the road...moguls and death cookies in the Canyon...survived his pilgrimage to the holyland and saw the light. :woohoo:

Was great meeting you again, AND riding with you this time :grin:

And Chomps (how do you even do mentions), was great meeting too! <-- he makes a lot more sense in meatspace than on the forums :hairy:

So bummed work interfered with a Bachelor trip :( I'd be up for these sorts of meetups, and I'd love to ride new mountains as well. And as my riding improves, maybe go to crazier places on those mountains :grin:

I wish we had those decent conditions when Neni, Chomps and everyone else was here... The conditions were classic bad northwest conditions....
