Just started a new job and holy shit, there's a guy there who is just too much. I keep politics out of the workplace. IMO, nothing good comes of bringing political and/or religious conversations to work.

But, this guy is something else. His car us plastered with Romney and Republican stickers. He spends all day raving about Romney this, conservative that, Republican blah, blah, blah. I claim allegiance to neither party and generally have an attitude of fuck 'em both. I don't understand the partisan idiots who treat their political party like a sports team and blindly cheer them on.

I generally ignore the guy, but today he just kept coming to show me political ad videos and kept bitching about reports that electronic voting machines were switching Romney votes to Obama, but then came barging in to gleefully show me a video of "the greatest voting machine ever" as he called it that showed a voter trying to select Obama but it kept checking Romney. Do these idiots see their own hypocrisy? Do they even care?

To top it all off, today he bragged about turning around his giant Romney yard sign to display the message he'd prepared on the back. His message? "It's time to put a WHITE man back in the WHITE House!" Holy fucking shit.

You should see the racist bumper stickers in Idaho. If we had stickers like that on our vehicles in Calgary our tires would be slashed!

At least you can enjoy rubbing it in this guys face tomorrow at work when Obama wins... unless he doesn't. In which case it sounds like you'll have one hell of a day listening to this nut job gloat

Sadely I think more people voted due to race and religion than anything this election. I've here endless arguments about this election end in either "well Obama doesn't believe in Jesus" or "we'll Obama is not a Christian".
I have not herd any outright racism as you have, but when people I know talk about being mad about not getting enough government funding for schools, hating how politicians have been attacking unions, hate greedy big business, and complain about how the wealthy pay less taxes than us, then the next day say they are voting for Romney. It makes me just beg the question... Lol

Things will be much quieter once this is all done with! Can't wait.

The GOP has used religion to secure the trailer park vote for years. I wonder how many of them realize Romney is not Christian?

People associate Obama with being a Muslim: #1 hated religious group in America. Mormans (even fanatical) still believe in the chrisian God and Jesus Christ.
How many people can really distinguish the subdivisions of the major religions in general? Outside of the major discrepancies like Muslim, Christian (usually includeds anyone who believes in god and Jesus), Judaism, Budiasm.... I know I can't really.

Linville,

You are right! Don't talk politics and religion at work! Nothing hood ever comes of it.

I deleted all my poltical ranting at the request of Neversummer since I am a defacto representative of the best snowboard company on the planet!!!!!!
I'm being hired in as a manager and I'm just in training.

Trust me, any political bullshit will get nipped in the bud quick within my team. I'm not putting up with it. Nothing good can come of it. This guy isn't mine, so whatever. Not my problem after a couple more weeks.

Yeah, I need to call up and talk to Vince. I understand they're going to be pretty heavily involved in the Evergreen Winter Festival this year and I'm sure I will be as well. I tried to tell those guys last year that NS should be their first phone call and they didn't listen. Finally after the massive cluster fuck that ensued last year, they decided to reach out to NS and just like I said they would, they jumped all over it immediately.

It's funny how you can really enjoy someone's company until you find out their political views - can just ruin everything so fast.. :(

I'm fine with differing views. The world would be mighty boring if we all agree on everything. What I'm not fine with is the outright dismissal of everyone who disagrees with you. I have several good friends who I nearly completely and totally disagree with politically. We know it and we simply don't let it come up. We like each other, we respect each others' views, and we simply don't let it come between us.
