Wow! Judging from TWC reports, Some serious shit goin' down in Co. right now!
I sincerely hope nobody else is injured in the flooding or slides, but especially sending vibes for any SBF members who may live in the affected areas!

Be safe! Hang tuff!

Nothing but a light drizzle here for the past two days in where I live in Denver. Amazing the difference a few miles can make.

I don't know what kind of mystical forces control downtown Denver but I swear, it almost never rains here.

My basement flooded. Not as horrible as it could have been. The sup pump worked but the amount of water we got was more than it could remove for stretch of time. We got the water out amd now it is all about drying out. Going to have to remove some drywall, but that is actually okay. Pain in the ass. I've lived in the front range for over 20 years and have never seen rain quite like this. Just sustained for days. Did anyone catch that the weather service was sending out alerts saying that the rainfall was of "biblical" proportions?

If this was snow we would now have received over 15ft in some areas. I'd have to get out of my house from my upstairs bedroom window.

Definitely fun stuff in all the wrong ways.

I am so interested in what winter is going to be like this season. It has been raining in summit almost every day. We had monsoon season this summer. No flooding in Summit.

The bad flooding is in Boulder, Lyons, Fort Collins and some front range.

OOOOOO, if it does this in the winter.

Driving around the city for work the last couple days has been crazy. I have never seen water levels so high before. Tomorrow will be my first trip into boulder so I'm expecting an eye opener.

My tv got zapped by one of the many lightening storms. I have not seen the local news reports. I just finished reading about the flooding on the computer. Damn! Sorry ya'll.

I have a large tent and some gear if any one wants to borrow it. It's just wet up in Summit, no flooding. I haz pool house key with showers too.

Basement flooded again

The water is now seeping in from the floors down by the walls. Ground is now that saturated. We got almost 4" of rain in under three hours yesterday. This is on top of the over 13" we have gotten since Tuesday night. At this point I am not so sure how much more my house can take before it goes structural. Going to see what runoff I can redirect away from the basement but I can't do much. Rain in the forecast all day and they are talking inches again. :banghead:

At least we haven't backed up with sewage so far.

+ Vibes for sure to all of you in the area.

My company has an office in Westminster and the woman who is the facilities manager lives in Boulder. Has 3 families staying with her right now.

The rain started off heavy today but has since backed off. I added some more defenses this morning and they seem to be helping. Though if we get 4" in 3 hours again, there is just no way. It has been so wet, I am worried that the foundation could get compromised with enough of a deluge. We packed up some bags with important stuff and a couple days worth of clothes in case the worst case scenario happens and we have to get out. I don't think that will happen, but better to be ready at this point.

Aside from water slowly seeping into the basement things are going well. Rain has stopped for a few hours now. Looks like it could start up again at anytime, but I'll take the break. Just have to go down to the basement every couple of hours and move water to the sump pump hole and call it good.

Look after yourselves peeps, and for fuck's sake don't go into flood waters - it's very fucking dangerous.

My two story house in Brisbane (Australia) was completely under water a couple of years ago in our floods so I understand what you're going through and how hard it can be picking up the pieces. Hopefully things don't get any worse and things begin to clear up a bit.

Take care.

Staying well away from rushing water. We have enough of this sort of thing during a normal year. Unreal what has happened around this area. Other people are not being so smart...
