currently ride a 153 GNU Pickle
.... I always wanted the GNU Rider Choice and now that the end of the season is here I could get a sweet deal on one but it is a 154.5, I originally was gonna get the RC in 151.5 but was wondering if 154.5 would be OK for my riding and skill level or just wait. Haven't been to the park and this is my 2nd season

I'm 5'9ish, 135-140 pounds and 7-1/2 boot size

*note age is 26 so I think I'm done growing

thanks in advance guys just cant decide if i should pull the trigger or not since I'm not all that experienced

....153 GNU Pickle and wondering if 154.5 would be OK for my riding and skill level or just wait?...... I don't know these boards besides the great reviews I hear about them. I don't think the size is the problem. Really 1.5 cm is nothing, but the different cambers PBTX vs C2BTX that may take some getting used to.

Like I said I am not for sure since I don't ride either board but I am sure someone will know on the forum. But sounds like a cool quiver if you get it!

I've done some more reading on the RC and tried to compare it to my Pickle in terms of spec. I see that RC with be a little narrower but as far as flex 5.5 in the 154.5 but my pickles flex is a 6 in the 153 . SO my thought is are they really gonna ride that different to justify having both? the c2btx vs the btx really that much different it terms of an ''All mountain" board.

Maybe i should just stick with the pickle and learn the full potential of this board and think about the RC down the road...This was my first full season with my own stuff...any thoughts?

This is probably not something you want to hear, but oh well. You said it's your first season with your own stuff and 2nd season ever, and you don't hit the park and you're in Ontario. Now forgive me if this is wrong but my impression of ski resorts near Ontario is that they're generally small with no steepness and less than 1000 feet of vertical (~304 meters). I'm in NJ, and I board in PA, which has similar mountains. I'm in Vermont right now, and the double blacks there are like blues here. Now I expected Vermont to be steeper alright, but I didn't think it would be that big of a difference.

I figure you're still trying to find out your riding style. Whether it be huge backcountry hiking, pow, just cruising, or serious park, it's probably not very apparent yet. When I started I had absolutely no interest in park whatsoever. Now the park is very appealing to me because it's fun every time, and you can switch up your tricks every run, pick different features to hit. If you're on a mountain where you can go through every run in less than 2 hours, it will get boring after awhile. The park is moar specialer, if you get what I mean ;)

Damn that was one hell of a tangent. In a nutshell I think you should wait a year because the park pickle is a great board and I don't think you need to upgrade. If you can get the rider's choice at a great price, then get it. 154.5 will be a bit bigger, a bit more stable for freeriding but a bit tougher to spin and mess around in in the park.

The RC is gonna feel way longer b/c of the blunt tip if you want to jib on that. You probably should downsize to 151 size if so. otherwise the RC would be good for all mt riding and pow days.

I also went from btx skate banana 156 to c2btx 157.5 same flex at 6 , but more stable and felt longer b/c of blunt time.
