Been indoor rock climbing in Calgary and Edmonton to strengthen up the core and all. Done some good serious hikes and the calfs and thighs are getting there!

Nothing can prep me for week one on the hills though. The brain is willing, but the body can't do it...

I've got a feeling I'll be on snow before Halloween again. Maybe I'll wear my old sportbike gear as a costume. :D

Washington is getting hit too, and it's cold as fuck here in Seattle the last few days. Seasons changed quick here!

Just swooped up a last year's Salomon man's board. Stoked!

So here's a random snowboard though:

Why have they not started using tungsten carbide edges? Wouldn't they stay sharp almost forever? They'd be a bitch to sharpen but you'd probably never need to... :dunno:

My guess is 1 - it's too hard to work with and 2, only you would ride a board that stiff. Tunsgsten carbide is extremely stiff.

Oh! Good reminder, almost forgot... Mental note: no lift anymore, time to exclusively use the stairs (office in 6th floor).

BTW: Indian summer over here, 75°F. The early layer from last week is gone, time for hiking n hacking :yahoo:

Same here, it's been gorgeous! I was hiking over the weekend by my favorite resort. Was beautiful down low but I could see it snowing in the peaks!

For some reason I'm most stoked right now about buttering, I can't wait.
I know we've got a thread about this already. But the last couple days I've been saying to myself: I WANT TO GO BIG THIS YEAR. Last year I dabbled with little cliffs and rock hits and some large kickers. This year I'm going to find some lines and run them over and over and bring up the amplitude... I want to get so much air the gravitational pull on my body lessens. Time to man up! :D

^Ya. Do it. :)

I wish I didn't break my board, and I wish I didn't have $20000 worth of landscaping to do with a baby on the way so I could afford to buy a new one lol. Guess I'll see how it holds up.

Random- My local mountain open last year for a couple of days starting haloween day. Heat came back and melted it away, but damn was that awesome to strap in in october.

Side note: I hope Breck and Keystone gets good coverage by mid January because our trip is booked and paid for, and last year rocks were exposed everywhere. But March was absolutely amazing!!!!!!!!

Got my first park day in... felt like I skipped the first day shaky early season shit and went straight at it. Front and Back Boards on lock on a down box with a little jump, I was airing over most of it and just sliding the end which was super fun... saving the street style rails for another day haha. Jumps were shit so I stayed off...

Fun day tho, good to be back.
