Here is a quick review on my experience with my Burton Superhero 2013. I have put many hours on it (till I destroyed it recently) and have to say I give it a 4.5 out of 5.

What Burton says....

It's no secret, so why live your life in fear? Find them, then destroy them with the Burton Super Hero and its less-is-more mentality. Bending the rules on board length, it's highly maneuverable design packs the Hero's punch in a smaller profile, letting you downsize 4 to 5cm from what you normally ride. Flat Top hybrid rocker blends float and control, ensuring a stable attack on whatever gets in your way.

Tech Specs

Flex Rating: 3. Loads of pop, playful yet still stiff enough for control and response when riding groomers.

Riding Style: Freestyle. However this could almost be an all-mountain freestyle board as it has several features in it to aid in riding powder and groomers such as...

Scoop: Exaggerated tip and tail scooping to aid in floating in pow.

Side Effects: Larger surface area at the tip and tail contact points to improve edge hold and allow the board to plane better in pow. Also gives enhanced grip on groomers.

Shape: Twin

Sidewalls and Base: 10:45 sidewalls which according to Burton are supposed to be super tough and durable. Base is sintered.

Binding Mounting: The Channel

Width: 253mm. Optimized for a US size 10-10.5 size boot for increased stability and reduced toe or heel drag. I find this extra width seems to add weight to the board. A few buddies found it heavy as well but it is a minor prob.

First Impressions

I ride almost all park so you won't get much on how this handles on groomers and pow. I found it to be quite playful and fun to ride on. The Frostbite Edges really work at keeping a grip on icy snow but still slipped on some super icy places which is no surprise. Going off jumps and onto boxes, this board was stable and was not washy on the landings. Sintered base gives this stick lots of speed. Great board if your looking for something that excels at the park but can still be enjoyed on the groomers.
