Custom X has a twin flex, with a .5 setback stance. If I moved both front and rear bindings forward .5 would be that be true twin setup? Does this affect the board in anyway not being on the reference points by .5???

Overthinking it, but yes it's twin flex in theory, but depends on your stance. Since you are set on true twin stance, I'd just assume it's even duck stance and then it is twin flex. The Custom X is still a slightly directional board, but the directional part is in the nose, so won't matter much.

Directional boards often have a sidecut that is centered on the reference stance. Moving your stance to the center of the board will move your center of weight forward of the center of the sidecut. I like to play with my stance on a new board to see what fits my riding style and demands. I'd try that Custom X centered and at reference. It might feel pretty twin anyway.
