suppose I will be doing high speed turns in fresh powder, which boot functions the best?

And how does the heat mold work in these boots?
I shld get a super tight one with my toes cramped inside as the mold will harden and grow bigger anyway?

The boot you should buy, is the one that fits you the best and has the flex you are looking for.

Heat molding can be done by wearing the boot or using an oven (task specific, or home).

1. Find a shop with a good boot fitter.
2. Listen to everything he/she says and buy whatever they tell you to buy, including insoles..
3. Go snowboarding.

I've had the Ion and the Imperial, and preferred the Ion for powder because of a little extra responsiveness without any sacrifice in comfort or weight.
