So this cowboy's horse dies in the desert and he walks to the nearest farm. Knocks on the door and asks the farmer if he could buy a horse off of him. The farmer shows him a mare and the cowboy asks "How much?". The farmer says "A thousand dollars". "WTF?" gasped the cowboy, "This nag is old, has a sway back, is knock kneed and has several teeth missing! You want $1,000 for that?". The farmer takes off his hat, scratches his head and says, "How about fifty dollars?". After some haggling the two of them closed the deal. Just before the cowboy rides off, he turns to the farmer and asks, "If you were willing to sell the horse for less than fifty dollars, why did you ask for a thousand?" to which the farmer , "Waal, I just thought you might like to own a thousand dollar horse." :dizzy:
