Snowboard pants help

20k is plenty for most of us, I run 10k and works totally fine for me. I can't vouch for thirtytwo, but I'm sure someone else here uses their outerwear.

If you want ultra breathable you could check out Homeschool, but if you get hot easily just make sure you get something with thigh vents.

Where do you ride normally?

I can definitely recommend Home School for breathability. I often take several hour long bus trips to VT and will sometimes leave my outerwear on (almost everyone else changes into outerwear at the Mtn) during the entire trip and almost never get sweaty even with my jacket and pants on. It's good quality stuff for sure.

I have the conquest pants and a the ak 3l freebird jacket. The pants are great; I run hot whenever I'm doing any exercise and they work fine for me. Plus they have a ton of pockets to keep all your stuff in.

higher numbers are just more comfortable and more effective against wet - whether you actually require the waterproofing or not.

can't go wrong with goretex whether you need it or not.

gtx is a bit overkill here in CO but it makes me hella comfy and lasts a long time.

Not so sure on the more comfortable part. I've got some 5k pants that are just as comfy as my Gore-tex stuff.

Higher the number the more waterproof/breathable no doubt. For Utah/Colorado/New Mexico/Wyoming you can get away with 5k and above. Though ya might get a little wet during those late season spring storms. I generally try to get stuff with 10k waterproof and above. That will usually do the trick for your area and traveling abroad.

Thanks everyone big help with the choice ill prob go with the thirtytwo pants since they are only $80 on dogfunk and should be good for me, im normally at mt.snow in VT.

I will also have to check out that Home School stuff.

I like the breathability for comfort, thats what I meant. I get hot all the time.
