If I post something as 'nearly new' and it's got marks like that on the base, I would certainly expect forum members to comment. I'm not saying it's a bad deal or it's in bad condition, but if you'd look at a board like that for sale and say it looks 'nearly new' then... come on.

Then again, it could just be very superficial that just looks like a gouge because of the picture. Disclosure is always good, but saying stuff that looks used and calling it 'nearly new' is just silly.

The pyre is like 500 new. My point is that you're selling it for 300. It's a pretty solid price. You don't need to sugarcoat it as 'nearly new'. It's clearly used and that's okay.

It is nearly new..... 8-10 laps on it is all. One thing I've learned over the years is to mind my own business especially when it comes to people selling things. If I'm not a buyer I probably don't have any business commenting on it. You never know how bad someone might need the money. Don't need to be muddying up the water just because you have nothing better to do with your time.

Needing money isn't justification for using misrepresenting language. That's all there is to it. Yours is a solid pickup at a solid price... why muddy the water yourself?

My point is simply that use case doesn't matter when boards have visible wear. Barely used with just 2 days on the hill is fine if it's just seen powder and had no dings and description. The days matter when the appearance is great but it's been ridden a bunch and it helps give a sense of usable life left.

My point is that using the descriptor of new doesn't really help anything. Your picture shows the condition. When I've sold boards that were used I've just said it has x number of days and this is the only wear i could find. I've sold boards that looked much worse than this and I've been honest saying that it could use a base grind but has a ton of life left. I'm just saying that 'nearly new' adds no useful info.

Snowboard trader on fb does pretty well with folks using a 0-10 scale. I'd say yours is an easy 8-9/10 based on how nitpicky someone is.

I don't really need to save face. I posted a tongue in cheek comment and you went off and now you feel bad because I'm not going to fight you. I'd buy you a beer if I rode with you and then remind you of that time you called a board nearly new.

I mean to be fair, if I bought something in “nearly new condition”, and it had visible scratches that extend all the way through and dinged up the edge, I’d be a little irritated.

That being said you included close up picture so it’s not like you’re being deceiving, if it was a 160 it would have been in the mail to my house already.

Yup. Issue was only with the wording. Rest of the listing was solid. Someone got a great board.

Nope, not me. Just had to get a new ride, so wasn't in the budget, sadly.
