I am planning my first trip out to Tahoe and I want to give an estimate to people about lift ticket pricing. I have several questions:

Is it cheaper to buy lift tickets early?
What are the best deals on tickets?
What can I expect to pay on average per day?

I figured I'd keep the question general to the Tahoe region, so that this thread could be useful to others as well, but I am specifically planning on going for 4 days of boarding (Friday-Monday) to Squaw and Alpine and possibly make one trip down to Kirkwood. The trip will be in late February.

I go out to Tahoe a couple of times a year and I always get the Tahoe Six Pack. It covers the 3 mountains you referenced and about 3 or 4 others. It averages out to a little under $60/day. Maybe you could sell the other two if you can't use them. It's the best deal I've found.

I was looking into the six pack, but it still seemed a little pricey if I am only going for 4 days of boarding (80/day). Do you have any idea how hard they would be to sell? Can I buy the six packs at any time during the season, or is there a deadline for buying them?

I wouldn't Think it would be too difficult especially if you don't use the ones for Heavenly. I believe their tickets are around $100/day. Someone could save $30 - $40 buying yours.
There is no time limit but there is only a limited quantity so you just need to get them before they get snatched up. I think they lasted into Jan last season.

Snowbomb also has a slight deal, but I don't know if you plan on wandering all the way around the lake to hit Homewood.

We usually find Snowbomb to have decent deals, but probably not if you're only staying for four days. We usually go for a couple of weeks, so it's worthwhile. You need access to wifi and a printer, and log in in the morning before you ride and print out your tickets. A paid membership comes with a tune-up and some other deals.

I don't know if they're doing it this year, but in years past the local Shell stations offered 2-for-1 tix to Northstar -- but as neednsnow said, if you're planning on just staying at South Lake (I wouldn't, Homewood is a lot of fun and cheap, and is right next to Alpine and Squaw Valley), it's probably not worth it. You can also try Liftopia.com, but they usually require advance purchase.
