Not sure if its your first time this year or ever.. but spruce is always a nice place for some of the more mellow stuff and is usually quiet.
It is my first time ever. I'm going with a couple guys that have been before but I will definitely take your advice and check out Spruce.

I've only been in Indiana and once in Finland. This should be quite the experience for me.

Thanks,

Jason

Well, I survived my first experience on a mountain. That was unbelievable. Saturday we went from open to close with about a 20 minute lunch break and no other stops. I was asleep by 8:30pm I was so wore out.

We ended up staying on the gondola and fourrunner side of the mountain. First run was Nosedive in complete fog. Second run we went on Bypass and then into the glades before getting back onto Nosedive. That was pretty hairy for a guy that has never been on a run harder than a blue (we have a few black diamond runs at Paoli Peaks but they are not really any harder than a blue at Stowe). I really struggled with the moguls and the deep powder in the glades. Definitely need some practice at getting going again in deep powder. My board was continuously buried.

Near the end of the first day I was randomly falling on blue and green runs from being completely wiped. We bombed a lot of runs and carried quite a bit of speed most of the day.

Second day we spent most of the time on Cliff Trail and Toll Road jumping into the woods and back out and hitting the trees near the switchbacks. I've never had so much fun in my life. My buddy never hits park features so I talked him into hitting some boxes and jumps. We both suck at that but it was fun to have a place to hit 3 jumps in a row that are built correctly.

Can't wait to go back to Stowe and also try out some other resorts next year.

Thanks,

Jason

It was your first time riding ever or riding a big(ger) mountain? Because to take a black diamond run on your first day is pretty ballsy. Nice to hear that you had such a great time.

PS...I know what you mean abuot being so wiped that you can't even hit a green run smoothly with falling lol
Yeah that was my first time at a mountain. My home resort is only about 300 feet of vertical drop. The only other resort I've been to was in Finland and it had about 700 feet of vertical drop.

I think probably more stupid than ballsy. Especially in the early morning fog. Once we got a couple runs in I got pretty comfortable with the speed. I ended hitting 49 mph on the alpine replay app.

I'm extremely jealous of people that get to go to resorts like that weekly.

Thanks,

Jason
