I remember back in college at CU anyone who snowboarded had a Sims board. Tom did more than anyone else to help get snowboarding off the ground back in the day. Vibes to the family and friends.

RIP Tom Sims. You, and others like you, invented a sport and nurtured its growth. The first time I ever saw someone snowboard was in 1987 and they were on a Sims Blade. After that day, I never put on skis again and snowboarding became my passion to this very day. Thank you Tom and may you rest in peace and never be forgotten.

Actually I'm pretty young, grew up in SB in the 90's - but my parents grew up there in the 70's and were part of the skate/surf rat culture, so they knew him pretty well.

Wow I have been kinda off the grid for a couple of months and this is just bad news to return to! RIP Tom Boardsports would not be anywhere without you!
