I had the exact same thing happen to my Burton Hometown Hero. I sent a warranty claim to Burton and they gave me a new board.
Yah, was easy enough. Just go through the warranty stuff and they'll do it. You'll have to send your board in. I disagree with the Burton lovers, this shouldn't happen. Doesn't happen on any other board. Also, if the top sheet is important for how the board rides like companies claim (though I'm not sure I'd notice) seems to me that it would take away from the performance.Really? I might give that a go then.
Did it just happen again though?
Didn't happen again because I didn't give it a chance to and returned it after I got a new board and got a Jones Flagship instead.Yah, was easy enough. Not true as it didn't happen to my Flagship. It's the exposed hard plastic on Burtons bindings that is causing this issue. Put the same bindings on a new board, it will happen again.
It really shouldn't happen. I am a fan of Burton stuff and love some Burton boards but seriously this shouldn't happen.Tbh it's probably a combination of this + a junk topsheet from Burton.
You can see in the pics I posted that even the foam gas pedal has left a big mark. These areas feel almost like they have been polished smooth vs. the rest of the matte topsheet.
As long as you have the receipt it shouldn't matterWill try to claim under warranty. Suspect I'll have issues initiating it here in Aus as I purchased the deck from Burton's Canadian online store whilst over there.
