Tree Jib to Spin?

I'm not sure what to call this trick but, I see it being done a lot in videos on transworld and such and have been trying to recreate it. I searched this forum and google but can't find anything helpful.

Basically the rider will approach a tree or vertical pole and jump up and nail it with their toeside edge and then spin backside off of it. After they make contact with the object it kind of launches them into a backside spin.

I can go up and tap objects like fenceposts, trees, and stakes with my toeside edge but, I can't figure out how to spin off of it in the opposite direction. Anyone know how or have any advice?

Practice basically. When you pop into it have your upper body set to spin the other way of the tap. You're going to eat shit the first couple dozen times and you'll probably tweak your side muscles but the end result is worth it.
well think of it this way.
everyone bascially has a setup carve and it would be opposite for something you ride up or your edge would catch so its a way of making sure you launch up straight then you need to commit with your shoulders as your reaching your highest point for the spin.

to be honest ive never done this but just thinking about how you described it. this explination makes sense hope i helped :D

This is how I do it as well, if you've tried a 180 shifty shifty, its a similar upper body setup. It can help if your arms are out when you tap the object, and then pull them in as you start to spin just to get that extra momentum going.
