Today I rode both of these, it was my first trip on the Sims Solo and really liked it, it wasn’t the ideal conditions for it (powder) but I wanted to try it out on some fresh snow and groomers. Where it did better than I expected good carver, quick base, responsive and floaty in the powder. The one thing that was tripping me out was the low rise on the tip, which you can see in the pic, then I went back to my old trusty Burton Stungun for some untouched groomers.

Amplid Surfari with Nidecker Supermatics
How do you like the safari ? I’d like to check one out but not sure who carries them locally.

After commenting on a YouTube video discussion on step in bindings, I got a notice from the YouTube channel saying that I was selected to receive a set of the Nidecker Supermatics. I thanked them and told them to give them to someone else I really didn’t want to switch up my setup, hopefully someone has those mounted up now.

After a 17” dump with temps in the 26° range and some bluebird, I decided to try out the new Sims Solo in some deep powder. It felt really good in the deep stuff but on the groomers back to the chairs it felt like it kept wanting to go to my toe edge, and was fighting to get it back to heal. After the powder got tracked up a bit I switched to the Stungun which is always fun.
