Couldn't find a thread like this, so figured I'd start one.

Ride the Niche Pyre with superforces. I love that board.

First day on my Surfari 157 and Cleavers. Felt bullet proof on everything, like no chatter or vibes on anything with my Thraxis boots.
How good is it!

Amplid Dada - interesting day actually. Board just loves powder, such a dream to ride but I do miss the Surfari on those chopped up lines with heavy crud. Took a days riding on this board to see just how good the Surfari is when getting bucked around - great fun day. 👍

The Surfari is good enough that I'm really struggling to think of a second board to bring with me on trips.
I rode the Dada today again, it was super deep and good fun but I wish I had the Surfari out there.

I'll ride it tomorrow and probably the next few days, we had a metre of fresh so it's going to love it.

Back on the Surfari with the Supermatics - plenty of powder, board just loves heavy pow!

Another day on the Surfari, upper buttock has loosened up nicely after hitting a tree day 1 and now is allowing me a little more movement through the hips to fluently carve.

I rode my OG Amplid Surfari 157. So good on a surprisingly powdery day!
Today was probably the best fun I've had boarding. It's dumping here at Suginohara and the Surfari is so much fun in powder especially when slashing that tail around. I'd really love to try the SG though.

Final day at Myoko and back on the Surfari, probably another 20cm top-up this morning and this thing just surfed the mountain. Really got used to riding this board in deeper powder and steeper terrain and loved a couple of lines today - but unfortunately that's me done for another 6 months or so no doubt!

How do you like the safari ? I’d like to check one out but not sure who carries them locally.

After commenting on a YouTube video discussion on step in bindings, I got a notice from the YouTube channel saying that I was selected to receive a set of the Nidecker Supermatics. I thanked them and told them to give them to someone else I really didn’t want to switch up my setup, hopefully someone has those mounted up now.
Wait what?

The Surfari is a great board, I've ridden it in a range of conditions and it does most things very well but I must admit I did love it as a freeride powder board. It loved deep powder lines backfoot surfing off piste. I found it a little stiff though in tight trees, this bruise on my ass from 2 weeks ago is still angry and constantly reminds me of this. I also found it a bit much on hard packed groomers in NZ/Aus, more so when the resorts are busy. Don't get me wrong it can handle the conditions well but for me it needed speed and open faces and got a bit tricky dodging crowds.

I'm interested in the SG to see if it's a bit less stiff and more manageable whilst still maintaining the powder qualities of the Surfari, could be my deck board. Excavator is another I'm thinking about.

The Supermatics are great also, I would've been screwed last week with traditional bindings needing to sit everytime to strap in, I'm still struggling to sit properly now and in pain, obviously not what they were designed specifically for but it saved my ass literally.

How hard did you crash into that tree?

And please come back with a review of the SG that says it is a quiver killer, great in the trees and nimble enough for saturdays.
Pretty hard, board washed through the tree well and flicked out, tree hit my upper thigh/lower buttox LHS as I was going down. Badly bruised, just black and still bruised and it was 2 weeks ago yersterday. Very sore. The following day I was traversing a steep and fell and lanede on my ass and had the most exruciating pain for about 2-3 seconds and then nothing, weirdest sensation. A couple of hours later the pain was back, couldn't sit/sleep comfortably LOL, few panadol/neurofen to get trhought he trip but it was hard. These last 2 days feel like it's improving and the color is turning yellow so on the mend.

Have you ridden the Surfari? What are your thoughts between the 2 if so?
