Hi,

I'm looking to buy my first snowboard. I bought some boots Vans Encore size 12. I thought I would have a size 11 since I have a 45 in Europe size, but my feet kept hurting until I had a 12.

The vendor advised me to buy a wide board. We ended up discussing the Nitro Team 162 wide. I looked up the specs and measured the board in the shop.

Nitro Team 162w Specifications

Further information about myself:
height: 189 cm = 6 feet 2.5 inch
feet size: 28 cm
Type of board: camber-rocker-camber
Feet angle: Duck stance -20 degree and +20 degree
Looking for all-moutain board

I also made a drawing of the measurements I took in the shop.

Now my question is: Is this a good board? Too wide too narrow? Or even better, what's the best waist size for a foot of 28 cm?

Thank you for your responses. :)

i would look for a board with a minimum waist width of 260 mm. i have size 11s and even though i think most on this forum would say a wide board is not needed, i prefer a wide board to regular width as on deep carves i still get toe drag on decks with 250 mm and below waist width

And is there any maximum for waist width? In my case with a feet of 28 cm, is 270 mm the maximum or over the maximum?

well i don't see much of a need to go that high, and i doubt you would find a board in the length you want with a WW of 270 mm, seems like that board would be quite disproportionate and not as comfortable and efficient to ride.
not to mention your stance angles are quite aggressive, further negating the need for a board with a width of over 265 mm. I would look at decks in the 160 to 165 range with a width of 260 to 265 mm. a deck with a width of 270 mm+ will have a length of 170+ cm, IE for riders 6'5 and above, or heavier set riders.

i am 6'1 165 lbs, ride a 157W with width of 260 mm. perfect board for me
