I decided to give my TF54 another ago, didn't like it too much the first few times. Need some help adjusting the stance, maybe this time it will be better :)

I am 175cm, 75kg, size 42 boots, riding medium Katana bindings. I usually ride +21 -9, with 54cm width.
Translation for American friends: 5.7, 165 pounds, size 9 boots, +21 -9 with ~21.5 inch width.

I tried the same on the TF, but it just didn't feel as good as on my Nitro Dropout. Any tips on how to adjust it?
Maybe try a slightly narrower stance, why not something close to 0 on the backfoot.

But mainly, just try to get the "flow" of it, by riding smooth and easy and mellow slopes, just to "get" how it carves. Then you'll be able to push much harder (actually lower, but not that aggressive).

Sometimes boards just don’t match how you want to ride. I tried the old TF 157 and enjoyed it a lot.

What don’t you like about it? I personally find that the Korua boards I’ve tried likes quite a lot of front foot in the turn initiation. At least that’s how I like to ride them.

Ran into a dude in the park on a pocket rocket and we chatted for a bit. Said the board was amazing and that it had amazing edge hold and was a great carver. He then proceeded to skid every turn he made :ROFLMAO:

A dude I run into often on a Dart does the same.

This is the common thread with most dudes on Koruas in my area. Anyone else seeing this?

I take back what I said before. Tried +15 - 9 with a reference stance today and this board felt amazing. Can't believe I wanted to sell it a few days ago.

Last season I ony saw two in lines, but this season… First a group of four Otto and a Dart on opening day, board tilted at 3°, apparently every single possible muscle contracted, arms like Wolken but static (I lack for words for what I saw, really), apparently being in a Yearning for Turning up in their head: going straight. Then two dudes on a Dart and a CR, straight on their legs, upper body in some sort of ragdoll classic dance, probably having the time of their life up in their head too: almost slided out of the slope for lack of drive. Another dude on a Pencil+, all on his back leg, using the short tail to pivot—but he didn't seem to be reviving Carve Oddity on loop, it looked painful for him too.

I actually have to see somebody carving one in person, since my brother doesn't want to try mine…

Korua: great for carving, not for learning to carve lol

IMO, if the board ain't made to do switch and/or you don't have the intention to ride switch, no point in having a duck stance.

I like a lot the positive stance on my CF. I'm at +24 +3 and feel like going for a little more.

As mentioned before 24/6 is pretty versatile and is also my go-to. On carving days I like +27/+9.

You gotta commit to ++ and learn the altered body positions that are best for ++. I tried to slowly transition to more positive angles, and I ended up with a lot of knee pain when riding a half assed ++ angle with my old duck stance positions.

Yup. That’s my carving and freeride set up.

So a guy on a Otto this sunday in Cham'. He looked a bit sketchy on a cat track at first, but then launch into a nice carve and quite a huge bs3 off the cat track, landing on a steep, chopped up slope… dude absolutely nailed it! 😯 A snowboard instructor had his Pencil in the rack too, but couldn't get to watch him ride.

Back to "never finding the perfect shape", I'm thinking more and more of trading my CR for a Dart plus 164, as my Korua is more and more my "perfect day" board with my current quiver (and I like it this way). I like the specs of the 164: more tail, a bit less taper, a bit more torsonial flex…
