Who rides a Korua?

Their yearning for turning series is so awesome. I love the simple white/red boards and their shapes.
You don't see much info or reviews on these boards, does anyone riding them have any opinions they'd like to share?
The boards that excite me most are the Pencil, Stealth, Tranny Finder and Cafe Racer.

If I managed to ruin my SPAM I imagine I'd be very interested in one of those.

Lets talk Karua!

What bushings are you using on your Liens? The hardest ones? I run all three red bushings on my Niseko Pleasures since its a significantly easier board to drive, but the same settings were too soft on my K2 Instrument. However I am not an Ape so YMMV
I use 2 yellows and the big black block

Edit: ain't no ape, I was a sasquash

After 10 days on Dart 156 in various conditions but mostly fine groomers and some not so deep powder, I have to say this is the most fun board I've ever ridden.
Super easy turn initiation, almost as you only need to twist ankles and it goes. Very stable on all piste conditions, even on afternoon moguls, which surprised me, I expected to throw me around.
Powder&forest runs were so fun, turning almost without any effort, easy to control no matter slow or charging.
Hit a jackpot with Dart, and just got a little used ride mtnpig 159 2022, that will serve as all condition piste charger. Cant wait to try it.
My old Burton's dump truck and custom x combo for powder and piste will probably just stay for backup.

Can you link a higher resolution version of this? It looks awesome! Glad the Dart is a huge hit!
Saw the noserider in action from korua. I think I'd die on the board. Anyone try the sliding action on that thing?
I was on Korua website and was looking at the Noserider. When I was looking at the explication video from Wolken about mounting bindings on the board, I had some concerns.
For a 1000$us board, is it me or the mounting bracket that you must force into the slider is kind of rubish for that tag price.
I had the feeling it made the board "cheap". Couldn't Korua asked Burton about their channel system and pay for the use of it?

And the fact that only 2 models from Flux were tested on the board got me thinking there as well.
Felt the board is still a concept but available now to buy with weird hardware and limited choice of bindings recommandation.
Feel like an unfinish product and nice concept, did Korua missed something there?

Not sure if you noticed in the video, but the bindings can slide on the rack while riding - that's why they cant use burton channel. You twist the binding while riding to lock/unlock your stance width. That's also why they only advertise those two bindings too - they couldn't test all the bindings on the market I presume.

It's a niche product from a brand that makes niche boards so the price tag reflects that. Most of the classic lineup is kind of overpriced if you think about how much a board with such a simple core construction (and edges that aren't full wrap) would cost - but you're paying a premium for a unique board from a smaller company.

It's a fantasy board to poke around with something unusual, it's not a true board. Actually, for something you're gonna ride twice a year, I'd prefer it on the cheap side...
at 165 with a 8.5 boot, is anyone riding a dart at 152 here? the 156 was unreal in open bowls, but got to be a bit of a handful in tracked out conditions. I think I'm on the edge and was thinking of sizing down
I haven't ridden any Korua, so take this with a pound of salt... but my first thought was buy a different board for different conditions. That said, the smaller one is significantly narrower so it should slither through the chop a bit better... but it's not going to give you the same float. Which brings be back to my first thought, buy a different board.

I'm still contemplating a better solution for the chop as well. My 154 Burton Dump Truck was great, but I fattened up to 175lbs and now it doesn't 'float' very well (though honestly this shape isn't the best for planing along). The K2 Special effects was terrible with my 8.5 boot. The Rome Stalefish is certainly doable, but not the best (maybe a good all around compromise). I think the 3D nose does help a bit with the width.

Width is great for float, but I do get bucked from side to side. I don't think narrower boards plane along with as much lift, so you need a much smaller tail that really sinks in order to keep the nose up. It's a different ride/physics, but if you're not getting up to speed to really plane (in sub-optimal conditions) I think it actually works better.

FWIW, I've kept my Special Effects for that unreal feeling in open pow.

I'm 165/8 boot and I'm riding the CR 159. You will be fine. Turning on solid hard-packed and ice is super scary though.

I’m out in Nelson again and had the boys at tribute sharpen up my edges, while walking through town I decided to grab a pic at baldface hq. Had a great pow day out here with it, and have been ripping groomers all week.

We are getting spring conditions this weekend and got to admit, the Café Racer is a fun board on theses conditions.
I wasn't too sure yesterday to bring it, I was hesitating to bring the Burton One Hitter knowing it does good, but glad I took out the CF instead.

Edit: warmer today, even better.

I had the two boards side by side and saw something strange:
Product Wood Font Sports equipment Bicycle part

Bumper Vehicle Road surface Wood Automotive exterior

Wood Road surface Asphalt Flooring Grass

Both contact point on the tail are aligned, and on the front are the "upper" of the files. The 52 Dancehaul actually has more running length than the 59 Café Racer. The Café Racer has quite some rocker in the tail, and no real rocker in the nose but a long contact point. The Café Racer head slightly more camber.

It's necessary a bad thing, but kinda adds to my theory that Koruas specs should be taken with a grain of salt.

Just emailed Korua to be sure of something obvious: no plan for the Trenchdigger (nor Bullet train) to make a comeback. Too bad, I liked the idea of a "less shifted" Café Racer. According to them, the closest would be the Pin Tonic 72. Hmmm… 🤔

Have to agree with you, the CR is so much fun in the slush! Definitely can't push the carves as low otherwise the snow will give out, but the snow being softer makes the CR feel more maneuverable in a sense. Not sure whether to take the CR or Otto for my mountain's closing day this weekend.

The distance between channel holes on the flux discs are longer than other bindings, so more suited for the sliding stuff, and the sliders are made in that width. Flux just has a construction that works with it, unlike the ones with rubber pads that dont slide. Some older flux models work fine, like last years ds if you dont mount the rubber stuff, but flux put more rubber under a few models this year, so they dont slide as well anymore. The Burton channel has grooves, and the new channel is wider on Korua, including the notches to lock in stance. The board is solid, but haven’t tried the sliding yet, next year. The regular mounts don’t lock in as well, there can be some movement after a few sharp turns, but acceptable. Slider channel is def «early access», but I don’t mind. This stuff will never be for everyone.

Looking at adding an Amplid Souly Grail (157) to my quiver. Would this be overlap with my Transition Finder (154)?
Didn't ride any, but on paper, they are very similar board indeed. Probably different feelings, pro/cons etc. but essentially, the same type of board, you would bring out on the same kind of days. If that's your type of board, why not though?
