Wide Boards

Hello all,

I recently bought a board from an online store. Once it arrived I realized they had sent me a wide version. I weigh 195 lbs, have size large cartels with a size 11 boot, do you think I should cause a fuss and send it back? Or will it be just fine?

What board and what's the waist width of the regular and the wide?
I have an 11.5 boot and ride regular to mid wide boards. It all depends on the waist width and binding angle. You should be able to ride a waist width 25.3 to 26 without any toe drag. Wider boards take more energy to connect turns but are still very rideable.
I have a size 12 and I've always ridden wide. I wouldn't know any better, but I've never had a problem. It can't hurt for pow days!

It is a YES PYL. The regular is 253mm and the wide is 261. I'm just worried I won't have enough toe drag and ill get more fatigued faster.
I ride a size 11 in a Salomon boot. My personal preference is ~25.7-26.3. I find it's the best balance between overhang and edge to edge quickness. I should add that I prefer carving performance over e to e quickness.

If it were me I would stick with the board you have. The cartels will fit well also.
Send it back. I have size 11s and I was riding a wide board. Sold it and bought the exact same board but regular width and it was so much more fun to ride.

I just spoke with the store and they won't return the board because it was last years model...so i'm stuck with it. Was it really that much more difficult to ride? I'm sure it won't be a huge issue i'm just wondering?
That's a pretty small waist width for a wide so you should be fine. I was riding a lib tech skunk ape which has a bigger waist width (26.8) and I didn't have any problems.
If they sent you the wrong board that's on them regardless of policy... unless you accidentley ordered the wide, then that's all you. If it's their mistake and they won't take care of you, contact your credit card company
