Hay i have an SL it rides great on groom holds on ice fairly flexy and poppy i am an instructor at Jiminy Peak so groom and ice is all i rely get to ride. But if you want here is a website with a rely great shop owner he has helped me out a lot. Gillys Snowboard Shop

I've been looking at a lot of topics on this forum, and a lot of you guys seem to be really knowledgeable about NeverSummer snowboards. However, I don't really know what each of the boards are specifically designed for. According to the website, the Premier F1 should be the best freeride/groomers board, but a lot of the people here say that all the other boards are great for this too. Is there any board in NeverSummer that is specifically better for groomers and such? I know that the answer is probably going to be either the Heritage, Raptor, or Premier, but I just want to be sure that I get what I want. I don't want to blow like $800 on a setup with a board that doesn't go with the terrain i ride

Unless your groomers are really long, really wide, and really fast I'd suggest you stick with what Gustov recommended. The SL kills groomers I might add. Maybe even the Heritage. The other boards are for terrain more challenging than groomers.
Keep an eye on the cobra which is made for much more than just groomers but if you ever travel or get a powder day, it might be the ticket
I've bought into the forum hype and have only ridden Never Summers (they sure are durable) mainly, so can't recommend other brands too much but they are out there as well.

So what terrain do you ride? What mountain in what area of the country? I've been riding Never Summer boards since 2003, but have mainly stuck with the freestyle oriented models - Evo, multiple SLs and most recently a Proto CT. I do actually have a Summit as well (their tapered/setback powder model).
Compared to other brands... all of the boards in Never Summer lineup are pretty good at riding groomers. The SL is pretty fun on groomers, but I definitely suspect the Heritage or Premier are going to be even better with more dampening (soaks up the vibration an chop) and directional sidecut and flex pattern.
Video of my riding a 2009 SL 155, at the end (around 1:10) you can see that my carved tracks are deep enough to be clearly visible from the chairlift compared to everyone else's tracks.
Of course the best option would be to demo and decide for yourself (link to their demo tour), or email/call Never Summer ([email protected]) just ask them
I live and snowboard on the east coast, in the Poconos, specifically in resorts. I guess there isn't too much challenging terrain there :thumbsup:. I ride all of the trails except double blacks because i find those trails to be too icy to enjoy anything out of the ride. I like to hit natural jumps/jibs and i generally stick to the trail. I thought the SL/Evo/Heritage was more park-oriented as on the site it is more on that side of the scale. After reading the posts, I have been thinking about getting the SL, and then trying on some stiffer boots at a shop and asking them which bindings will fit my budget and board+boots. Hopefully the colors match the board!
i would say you definitely don't need something as stiff as the premier f1 or raptor. those are for some serious big mountain stuff. an sl would be stiff enough for what you're doing. i think it would be pretty ideal for you since you said you like to hit some jumps and jibs. i got a legacy this year after switching from a regular camber board and i love it.I live and snowboard on the east coast, in the Poconos, specifically in resorts. I rode the softest board they make at Breck going fairly fast. Super fast? No. Fastest guy on the slopes? No. Beat 5 other guys in a race? Yes. Fast as this old 35 y/o guy wants to go? If you're going with NS, Proto/SL/Cobra and MAYBE heritage is what I'd look at. If you're a smaller guy like me, the Heritage is almost out of reach at 155cm but go read Snowolf's review. you never know. you might end up on a big mountain and your deck will be able to handle it.
