I’d go cartel x. When I used the malavitas I really liked the way the high back grips, I could literally almost ride without the ankle strap they hugged so well. Only reason I stopped using them was the limited width adjustment which isn’t an issue with a burton board so if I were choosing I’d go for the x just for the solid heel hold.
