Depends on your goals, want to find powder, avoid crowds and lift ticket prices? It’s sweet, but costs money, and time to learn the safety and risk mitigation skills to get out there.

Don't people ever just do low angle stuff without any avalanche risk? Hiking up hills without snow is workout, and I honestly can't ever see myself going UP anything that would be seriously dangerous. So maybe that's just a no for me... though I see Big White is closing April 7th and they haven't opened yet, so I do wonder about extending the season to some extent.
Yes, going solo is less impossible than it seems at first. But it goes through a bit of training indeed, planning and experience (and accepting the risk). Low angle is one thing, well trodden trail is a second one if you have a problem, being more or less sure to have a way out etc.
