Question on boot/binding overhang (Now/Jones bindings

Hi I just ordered a set of Jones Mercury bindings, and I get a lot of boot overhang on both the toe and heel side with my size 13 Ride Trident boots. Since there is no way to expand the base, I am curious if I should send them back? I am close to 2 inches of overhang on heel and toe side. My previous experience has been with Burton and Ride bindings, and I have significantly less overhang with both of these bindings. Any input is greatly appreciated.

To start off with you look like you have the boots on the incorrect side of the binding (right boot in left binding. The bindings look okay for size ie US13 boot will need a large binding. I have US13 and the issue here is you're on the upper end of a large binding size so you will have a slight amount of overhang each side. Welcome to the World of having a big hold on the Earth.

So most mid to high end level bindings allow you to adjust the toe ramp/gas pedal length as well as the highback angle plus forward/aft movement. However from just reading up on the Jones Mercury....., it has non of these abilities to adjust. Not that great for a higher end binding.

Yea I mounted the bindings on my Jones flagship and the bindings fit the board fine, it just looked like excessive overhang on the bindings. I have a little overhang with my Ride and Burton bindings but not as much as the Jones by a long shot. To me it seems like it might be too much, and I should return them.

They look around 15 to 20mm too short in toe ramp. The forward edge of the gas pedal/toe ramp should be around where the boot starts to rise up to the front. Moral of the story here is to test this length out before you jump in which is hard with online sales. Keep with what you know.
Yea for sure, I can return them for a refund so not too worried about it. I just like the bindings and wanted to use them on the flagship. I can wait until the fall until the local shops replenish their supply.

I wear a size 12 Rome Guide boot, and run the L/XL DOD bindings...and I love this set up! The DOD bindings are stiffer than the Katana mainly because it has the full under wrap aluminum frame. The Katana only has the aluminum under the ball of your foot, and the DOD has it on both sides. I've ridden both and I find the DOD to be more powerful and "solid" for my style of riding. The Katana had a more "surfy" feel if that makes sense. It isn't really about stiffer vs. softer. It is more about powerful vs. surfy. Does that help?
