there is a heel lift issue when the heel is raised, which is due to the burton using the smallest size heel cleat component. This aluminum heel cleat increases the height by 2mm, making the step-in more secure and solving the heel lift problem.
It makes cool sounds.I'm not saying there isn't a heel lift problem, but I have zero heel lift on the 2nd click. I have no idea what a metal cleat is meant to accomplish though, because wear and tear is not a big concern on those parts? You're also moving stress to somewhere else now, that may not be a replaceable spot. And finally, aluminum has no endurance limit so one day it'll just crack open and you won't have any way to predict it.
I guess I'm a little worried this is like a snowboarding equivalent of selling cold air intakes to car guys...
