Didn't peak at the specs, but that's not super exciting for Capita, no? I mean, their lineup is dope already and more than I would buy anyways, I shouldn't complain.

 

Great to see the Stairmaster back. My favorite board I've ever had was a 05/06 152 Stairmaster that I beat to absolute shit. It was of the infamous crappy topsheet run, which I did crack across the tail, and spent the rest of its life riding backward.

Are you certain this is AI? One of their basically in-house artists, Ephka, has done a lot kind of freaky surreal stuff like this over the years. I'm not saying it isn't AI, but I think Capita has some plausible deniability here.

Restricted lineup. Kinda makes sense though. I just don't why they keep both the Drakkar and the Marauder. And make a Leviathan split?

 

I wonder what is going to develop with the board Torstein Horgmo has been working on with Capita. He put something up on his youtube channel over a year ago talking about it. "Semi directional all mountain ripper", slight taper, cambered. Could be cool.

 

I don't think it'll be ready for next season. Basing that off it not being mentioned at the tradeshow I got to attend. Doesn't mean it won't pop up, but there was no physical board to snap a photo of or hear about.

Probably won’t know that utill close to end of February but if you notice most seasons the early release stuff is normally the same as we see some of the riders riding early too. So hoping maybe the new dark horse and I’m thinking the equalizer for women but who knows.

Looks like the specs might be a bit shifted, I doubt the 157 has a thicker waist than the 160. Has the Passport/Berserker sidecut with quick entry and exit parabolas. I bet Avran will gush over this one considering his fervor for the Manifest Team, Instrument and Passport in recent years.

 

Purely from the shape it looks more like a fancier Passport. Sage has talked a couple times on the Bombhole about a board he has been working on with JStone, accessible high end freeride from how he's talked about it. So similar build style and construction as the Alchemist with a more Passporty flex would be my guess. Which seems like a ton of overlap in their line. Nor was the Alchemist that stiff anyway. Seems to me like they should have just tweaked the Instrument and positioned it against the Alternator/Aeronaut rather than adding a board in the very small space between the Passport and Alchemist.

Otherwise, I agree with Nivek about the placement of the boards. I think the instrument has gotten completely lost in the lineup and there are too many boards that don’t make a lot of sense and, from what you are saying, there’s yet another one on the way. It’s a clusterfuck.
I think the instrument could/should get a revision anyways. At first I wasn’t sure if they actually changed the core or just renamed it, but apparently they changed the core and seemingly it hasn’t been a popular move. It’s not the most versatile shape in the group, so I’m thinking they could either drop it from the lineup or revise by loosing some volume in the nose to give a bit more ee and camber length, and completely update the construction… actually now that I’m think about it, perhaps just dropping the instrument would be better and then coming out with the new board. Even then, they could trim the line so there’s less of an identity crisis within the line.

 

I like how the dials have a wood paneling effect - which is very much Arbor's brand. It would be super cool if that wood paneling was actually the wood underneath the graphics. I have a feeling it will just be an image, like in the current Nitro Squash.
