That’s what I was thinking size wise. I did get a 159 Capita bsod and it was too much so I’m a little apprehensive. That being said the 161 jones flagship was easy to throw around along with the 157 mercury.

It's a stiff board (like most amplids) so a 154 could totally work. You'd be gaining some tight trees performance over bombing stability, but that's your call to make. Also, check the front and back foot insert width. I def wouldn't go 162 unless all you did was high open faces and big lines.

One last?, any idea of how well it performs in powder? Thanks for the input, been doing a lot of research and may pull the trigger tonight

It does fine in pow, but deeper stuff and you'd prefer to use a pow board or size up (if you're always riding pow you lucky bastard). I haven't ridden it yet but a buddy (who owns almost every damn amplid board) says it's his favorite by far for all conditions.... I mean that was Peter's intention when creating it and that makes sense. He's about your size, maybe a slightly bigger boot, and he has the 158, but he tends to ride his boards a bit oversized.

The singular is really a freeride board so if you're set on butters and presses I'd go for something softer. That being said, I would definitely go for the singular otherwise.
That is nonsense! It’s a slightly stiffer than mid-flexing all mountain board. I’ve ridden one for the last year. Probably too late now - but I’d say it’s very much what you’re looking for. The responder is simply quoting Angry Snowboarder who mis-categorised the singular in 22 (rectified in 23)

I suppose it depends on your weight and the size you buy, because for me, it's definitely stiff and not a great board for buttering.

Y that’s fair. Sorry - shouldn’t have said your view was ‘nonsense’. For reference I’m 6ft and 195lbs/89kg riding a 158 so I’m towards the top end of the weight range (it goes to 95kg for the 158). Definitely softer than I expected - though bear in mind I’m coming off a Flagship daily driver & my current 2nd board is a K2 Alchemist. It’s all relative!

I'm 155lbs/70kg, 8.5 us boot and 5'9"/175cm. Most Amplid boards are well on the stiffer side of medium at my weight range.

Ive found that Amplid flexes are pretty spot on to their size chart. If you're at the end of the weight range it's definitely going to be softer for you.
