Burton Step On X vs Nitro Ultra Step On and Union Step On

Hi Forum,

I have been riding the Burton Re:Flex Step On X for the last 3 seasons. And aside from limited forward lean and more play due to the footbed/gas pedal decompressing more and more I am very happy with them. I guess the same thing goes for the toe hooks. As they get worn I don’t get the same locked-in feeling as when they were brand new. I am not prepared to change binding-boot system and will stay with step on for a few more seasons. But now onto my questions.

1.) Has anyone tried the Step On X compared to Nitro Ultra Step On and Union StepOn. How are they when it comes to flex/response?

How comparable are they? Will I have a noticeably less responsive setup with Unions or Nitros?

2.) Has anyone any experiences from getting non listed replacement parts to step on bindings from Burton?

I am looking to upgrade my Step On X with new toe hooks and footbed if possible. And maybe get a second set of bindings for one of myndighet boards to not have to change.

For reference:
159 Yes Standard Uninc for All Mountain -freestyle
157 Stranda Biru for All mountain Carving/Powder. Paired with Burton Ions. So a pretty responsive setup all in all.

Please advise 🙏

@LukasL absolutely take a close look into your toe hooks. Those things are literally plastic hooks that get worn down by the nature of riding/stepping in and stepping out

I rode my X very aggressively for only one season and had to get them replaced. They began to lose responsiveness up until I started popping out of them because they’d gotten so worn down
