Gentemstick is the original line, and supposed to be made in a factory in Honshu, I don't think quality is an issue either way, but price varies, possibly some different topsheets and bases. Though they were moving away from those internal brands.

TTSS: Bamboo (at least topsheet)
Snowsurf: Mostly short/wide (relatively)

 

When I was in Niseko at the shops and they were talking about Elevated Surfcraft boards, they said some cheaper Gentemsticks are made in China and that the surfcraft boards were made in the same chinese factory as those.

 

I sent an email to Gentem and they got back to me pointing to a page on their website showing the TTSS model I had (a previous year one). The price was the same ($1100-$1200 usd) as other boards. So not sure what those "cheaper" Gentems come from.

 

I think the china Gentem boards are actually more expensive for them to make.

 

Telos is the GP87 house brand, my BackSlash is made well.

 

Can you give me some feedback on which Telos you ride and your experience with the board?

I'm thinking of getting a Backslash
