Will use for park but also charging groomers and doing occasional tree runs in somewhat deeper snow (I have other decks for pow days). Intermediate skills at park, advanced on the rest of the mountain. Size 10.5 Nikes, Rome 390 boss L/XL, 6'1", 175-180 lbs, stance around 23.5".

155, 155W, or 158?

Especially with such a wide stance, you're fine on any of those sizes as far as width goes unless you're going to eurocarve regularly on ice. But if you were, you'd probably be looking at different boards.

So I'd say keep it narrow unless you want a bit more float, but it's up to you if you want something more nimble or not. If you have other boards for powder/freeride I'd optimize for park stuff with this one and get the 155. But really no bad options for you, kind of a minor toss up between 155, 155w and 158.

So the 155 has a width at the middle of the inserts of 10 1/4" (260 mm), 10 1/2" (267) for the 155W. Both measured by Tactics. Compared to my jackpot which is 10 3/8" (264), riders choice at 10 1/4" (260) and BSOD at 10 1/2" (267). Haven't ridden the RC in a few seasons but do remember some overhang, nothing that seemed to bother me though. Based on that the 155 would probably be fine but figure if I go with the 158 I'll have a little more room.

Since I am going to try to use this for all mountain freestyle, more park jumps than rails, and also some freeriding, I'm thinking the 158 might be the best bet. But I will strap my boots into my other boards and see what's best the 155W is a good option too.

Generally speaking either size and width will work. Neither is a “bad” option. Each will have pros and cons. I went with the 155W because I have an evil twin 159, and Capita DOA 158. I wanted something different. That being said it’s opened my eyes to shorter board still being all mountain.

Next time you want to try something different why not try a board that actually fits you for all mountain? You're overweight for all of your boards. Don't be scared homie. I mean they're only the manufacturer's recommendations but what would they know? They only designed and built the things.

Capita has you on the 161 Mercury and you're bang in range for the 169W BSOD. Unless there's something I'm not getting here?
