That sucks to hear. Hopefully you can get back on snow after some short weeks away, and find some way to enjoy the recovery period as much as someone can.

Thanks to everyone for their sympathy!

I should mention that I gave up on the poor fitting Insano and started using my comfy Vans Verse. This interface wasn’t as good with the Flux CV LTD, so I swapped for the Rome Cleavers with Bataleon Infinity straps. The higher strap and stiffer highback aren’t as surfy, but they do seem better for the board width and more up-unweighted carving style.

Maybe you can get some katana or another Rome binding high back. That's what I'm going to do with my cleavers this year.

So funny, I'm near the end of life on my insanos and have brand new vans verse waiting, I had verse before the insanos and now I remember they were much softer, I guess we will see, those new bataleon boot upper boa looks so interesting, I have never had a perfect fitting boot due to big calves and still on the hunt, but the insanos are so stiff they basically mask any issues

On the first lap I was definitely thinking this, but I adapted quickly. With this width and a long sidecut it’s not like I’m doing a lot of down-unweighted turns for them to get in the way all that much. I do wish I could rotate the highback more though.

I’m the opposite, chicken legs and a high instep. The Insano just crushes my foot. I’m intrigued by the new Bataleon as well. Looks like my boots will last this season! 😂

Damn dude that sucks balls. Hope you heal up for the spring.

I’ve dug my carving deck nose into the piste on soft days. Not hard to do when the deck is all EE and a micro nose

Ugh sorry to hear @Board Doctor , this is a bummer. Hope you still got some good days out there in the early weeks of the season and that you can get a few more laps maybe in spring or early summer in the backcountry

Ah yeah that makes sense. In my case the Cleavers will be on my <26ww boards so there won't be many up unweighted turns. I'll use the Drives on the wider boards.

I liked the Cleavers on it, so I bought a new set while they’re still available. Swapped over Infinity straps (buckles do swap!) and no cant beds. Still hoping to get back on it this year…

BTW, they made another 20 and intend to do another 10 over the next month or so (I don’t know if they’re all sold yet).

Ooh I like them thick! I do prefer higher binding angles on slightly narrower boards, but there’s certainly something to be said for going as wide as you need to maintain those comfortable angles. Beautiful set up! I hope you get some spring turns in!

Board Doctor where are these available at? Thanks!

Out of the 20, there’s apparently only one mid-stiff 162 left (286mm waist, 11m SCR). He says the narrower width is for firmer conditions, up to a size 10 and 180 lbs.

The 10 presale custom builds (size & flex) are also sold out. $2400 CAD, but the US exchange rate is quite good… even if you get dinged with a Trump tariff.

FYI…

C4 166: 142cm effective edge, 292mm waist, 12m average sidecut
C4 162: 139cm effective edge. 286mm waist, 11m average sidecut

Coming soon?
C4 169: 144 effective edge, 300mm waist, 13m average sidecut

Some pencil lines shot from the lift:

A bit mellow for the 12m sidecut & flex, but certainly doable. I‘m goofy and often hit that little heelside bank (riding other boards) and then crank it back around WELL before that pole. Here I had to hop the ungroomed bit by the pole. There is some rebound in this titanal board, and landing into that heelside pencil was really satisfying.

I really cleaned up my toeside this year (separation and counter-rotation of the upper body to angulate and stack my weight better).

“Big Snowboards” is Jasey’s new brand and these will be the “G4“ going forward…

Interestingly, they’ve added a 171 (300WW), though the most popular had been the 162.

Unfortunately he can’t really scale up production of these titanal boards, but they have been prototyping some glass boards as well.

James found some lousy video of me on the prototype in March 2024, but here’s some decent stills…

My toeside was still a bit awkward (this one’s BY FAR the best pic):

A little air between transitions:

I’ve always thought I had a decent heelside, but this board really unlocked it:

Pencil line-ish:

I had a 280WW pow board, but had never really carved anything over 265WW.

Size 8 boots… it is indeed a Big Board.
