K2 Thraxis vs Orton Boots?

Looking at the K2 Thraxis or Orton boots. They look quite similar except the addition on the conda boa on the thraxis over the ankle and being stiffer. Unfortunately I dont have any stores that have thraxis to compare locally.

I have a rather wide foot with a high instep and boa boots are hard to manage sometimes. I have found the Ortons fit quite well and dont hurt my feet to bad but perhaps leaning towards the Thraxis for the extra boa and stiffness.

Does anyone have any real world experience? Do they fit the same?

The Thraxis is stiff. About as close to a ski boot as a soft boot can get I think. I have been riding Thraxis for several years now and will probably continue to go with them. Good durability. The ankle BOA is great. Best lock down method for your heal that I have used. World's better than any lace model out there. That said, if the Orton boot fits your foot versus the Thraxis would not be a good fit, I would go with the Orton. Boots absolutely have to fit. They are your most important piece of gear.
i would assume that the thraxis and orton fit similar? Unfortunately i wasnt able to try on some thraxis boots but my local store had ortons.

I would never assume that the fit is the same between two different companies. One thing with the Thraxis and from what I have heard it is common. If you decide to go that route, size your boot down a half size. I am usually an 11 in just about everything. For the Thraxis I have gone with 10 1/2 everytime and haven't regretted it. 11 is a little oversized for me with the K2 fit.
that probably means i should go true to size. i need the width lol
