After washing jacket seems lost breathability

So I washed my cool 686 jacket (10K/8K) first time with casual detergent according to care instruction (30 degree water, gentle style, rinsed twice), and couple of days ago I ride and found out jacket was wet inside and dried very slow.

Usually in mountains during lunch time it used to be completely dry really quick.

It seems I affected or damaged breathable layer, perhaps closed pores with detergent?

Can it be fixed? Should I try Nikwax and re-wash it? Along with re-activating DWR layer?

In my experience low rated (under 15k) stuff does not stand up to washing very well at all. Read: it washes out fucking immediately :( Solution: don't wash it.

On the other hand my $400 gtx pants took about 10 washings over 300 days before they started to leak.

You shouldnt use regular detergent for the most part, unless its powdered, but I use nixwax, I've had the same bottle for like 5 years and its probably half full.

Re wash it with Nik-wash.

While the care label says that you can use regular detergent, it is very hard to get all all the residue out of the pores. They clog up, the jacket doesn't breathe as well and it gets damp inside from sweat

In reality try to avoid washing your jacket ever. Everyone gets offended by this but really it's only your base layers that should get smelly and sweaty. If you do have to wash it regular detergent is pretty bad. As mentioned Nikwax is your best bet but once you wash a jacket the combination of waterproofing and breath-ability will never be the same :dunno:

The people who work for the companies will even tell you to try and never wash it. Also NEVER dry it if you do wash it. 10k/8K jackets do fine if cared for properly.

Thanks for response, lads!

I used powder detergent, small amount, but I guess it was enough to clog the pores.

Actually I didn't wash it for two seasons :) and thought it's time to do it.

I will buy Nikwax Tech and also Spray for DWR - hope it will work, because I like this jacket very much (I'm on the left):
