ok guys, I've had it with my nylon gaiter getting soaked from breath when I utilize it up over my face while riding especially hard & fast .....looks like Ride Qi is a goner as a company ......and the Airblaster Terryclava full head wear / gaiter combo does not allow for pulling the face covering down when needed ......who in our 2022 / 2023 season now sports the best face covering / gaiter / full head cover that will not get soaked with breath when up while riding AND can be pulled down & up as required .....THANKS for the assist !

I've got the best face covering- a thick wooly beard. Now pulling it up and down...

Never used a face mask that didn't get wet. Even my beard gets wet and iced over from my breathing. I believe that problem is unavoidable.

I've got a light head covering with holes for the nose and mouth that does okay. I still almost never cover my face though.

Scientifically, as our breath has moisture in it when we breath out some of that water vapor gets trapped into/onto the face mask. I've found that if your face mask is tight around the mouth/nose, moisture has nowhere to escape except through the materials fabric. I've experiences this with a tighter Quicksilver Lycra balaclava that would continually wet out pretty fast all the time and then freeze. Tighter fitting material close to the face traps the water vapor in and consequently wets the fabric out. I find with Anon MFI as the face mask sits way looser away from the mouth the water vapor can expel through other areas. Having air holes/mesh in the breathing ports will greatly assist in preventing this wet out. In all honesty, I can't ever recall my MFI ever having suffered from being affected by this problem.

Why Do You See Your Breath When It's Cold Outside?

I've used a North Face and Arc'teryx face masks and they've worked well. Arc'teryx was really nice.

I agree with the above though. I switched to the Anon M4 with the magnetic face masks with mifi system, and it works the best.

I had run into issues with regular face masks and google fogging, but the M4 system solved it. Didn't really have an issue with the face masks getting soaked by icy breath

This is what I use: Airhole facemask

As we all know, breathing by a nose is the proper/healthy way of breathing.
So most of the time I'm breathing through my nose.
But in airhole, when I breathe in - the material sucks in my nose - and I can breathe in :)
And when I breathe out the air goes up and my goggles fogs up!
It's so f*g annoying. Again and again. Finally I need to lower the mask below my nose.

Why this issues didn't came up when they designed and tested this mask?

Do you have solutions for this problems?

+1 for mfi. It’s an investment but it just works so damn well. My wife doesn’t use hers as she prefers oakley lenses which I agree are better but I couldn’t go without mfi now that ive tried it. Prior to this I used avalon7 mesh bandanas and neck gaiters. They breath very well but aren’t super warm. On cold days Id keep a warm neck gaiter on and lift it up when in cold winds / on lift etc
