Don't need to subscribe to a book load of ads. I get a lot of my snowboard news through this site and BA's "The Angry Snowboarder".

But if you want to stare at the pretty pictures the magizine offers, knock yourself out.

(Sounds harsh, but oh well.)

I continue to like magazines, with a half dozen subscriptions at any given time. It makes good reading material on the throne, and on the airplane since I'm constantly flying. With most mags it works out to $1-2/issue so it's totally worth it. When I first started getting TWS 4yrs ago, I thumbed through a couple mos. worth of issues from Snowboard, Snowboarder, and Future Snowboarding. Decided TWS was the best at the time, and haven't bothered with any of the other ones since. Anyone care to disagree?

I subscribe and enjoy the articles. On top of that they are usually a few good deals, (they usually have 1 per issue) for discounts at resorts around the US. Last two years in a row there was one for Stowe, 90 bucks for 3 days, hard to beat that but you have to have the issue and only is good for 1 person. I took up that offer last year and used it.

If you care to pay hard earned cash for innane, jejune gibberish with a throbbing, mendacious mantra of "no hype core", yet which oozes marketing and BS and is seemingly geared towards lewd, chainsmoking pre-teens with an IQ of 5; or if viewing pictures with captions describing the sickness of the pictures are the limit of your cognitive ability, then it's the magazine for you. If not, save your money any buy some wax.

Nice photography but not too much in the way of engrossing written content. I feel like they could have a lot more depth. I really wish it would veer a bit away from the pro-rider and filming focus and get more into the coverage of the workings of the industry itself. Or just things that we as "everyday" people experience.

My favorite part is the little "newsbar" that runs along the bottom of a couple pages that gives some flash updates on what's going on with resorts, individuals, etc. Some of the blogs out there are definitely more content-laden (and free :D)

I just re subscribed this year cause they sent me a card for 3 years for $10. Basically in every magazine there is one article or one interview with a rider that is decent. Other than that, yea, well, its not much to write home about. I do love the shit out of the yearly photo issue though.

anyone saving 97 cents and getting the online version instead of the print?

And with Future Snowboarding gone, is there any alternative mag? I'm always a bit annoyed that there seem to be lots of ski magazines and only a single one for the boarder. I guess the generations that board are less affluent or something. Or would rather ride than read about riding. :) Still, the ski mags have much more useful content than any boarding mag I've seen, which seem to be focused on image above all else (again, their target market).
