Yup... I meant to say "favorite", not "best". OG Surfari less stiff, more backseat camber profile, bigger sidecut (9.1m), tiny bit more taper, more surfy.

I have this one and you can see how the camber profile looks here:

In a similar boat and have been kicking around a few offerings from Burton. Namely pow wrench, bottom feeder, and forager. I eliminated the fish since is carves like crap (the pre-3Ds were fine carvers). Forager seems a little extreme with the swallow tail, but apparently slays groomers thanks to the camber profile and X construction.

That leaves me between pow wrench, which is readily available, and the bottom feeder, which they haven't made for a few years.

Not even sure why I typed this out, but it seemed to make sense at the time of writing lol

Nidecker Mellow
I probably should’ve looked at that more seriously. How does it compare to the Stalefish? Different core, but same factory? More damp? It has a longer SCR & EE, appears to be stiffer, nose isn’t as fat, no 3D, maybe a better carver?

That’s a real beauty… I wondered what the effective edge was, but then I converted the price:

The Niseko pleasures is a totally different board imho. I used to have the SP and would kinda like to get back on the smaller NP because that board just turned so well.

I also have a niche pyre. It's fantastic.

The SP rode very differently. A softer SP sounds amazing... That's basically what the NP is.

I almost bought a forager I found on fb recently while traveling.

Contrary to what the other guy said, I really don't dislike the channel that much. I've ridden a few boards with it. I used burton EST bindings with it though.

The 151 NP seems a bit small, while the 156 is getting kind of fat… tough choice.

I’ve been spoiled by the dampness of my Maelstrom. The Pyre doesn‘t look all that setback though, and the EE is rather short. Otherwise I’d be all over it.

I emailed…
“The effective edge (wide point to wide point) is 1180mm on the Cabin Fever 154.“

and considered… but it was another $350 CAD just for shipping. :(

I love the look of this board. That up kick in the nose might have me a bit paranoid about baggage handlers though.

2024 Surfari & Soulmate (no graphics which is fine, but extruded base?)

What's the source?

From this article, it seems like just the purist series will be extruded base to be a cheaper price point.

" With the PURIST SERIES we are catering to a new price sensible market segment, by skipping expensive cosmetical details. These boards are all black – as in “no graphics”, with black extruded base. Amplid board feel for the smaller wallet." Amplid 2023/24 Snowboards Preview - Boardsport SOURCE

Would suck if they removed sintered base from boards in their current line-up. That is definitely not just cosmetic but will impact performance.

Edit: based on the diagram picture graphic, the Sufari still has the sintered 7 HD base. Amplid SURFARI 23-24モデル. I think it is just the purist line that is coming in at a cheaper price point with the extruded base (looks like $550-$600ish USD if converted from the japanese catalog pricing).

Sorry for the confusion… the Surfari hasn’t changed, it’s just the Soulmate that’s a ‘budget’ board.
