Use one or dont makes no difference. But if you're actually using it you're probably doing it wrong. 90% of all control should be with your front foot that's strapped in. Your back foot is literally just there to help apply even edge pressure when you go to stop. If you're boot's sliding around you need to stop using you're back foot.

Like the look put one on. Don't like the look, don't. But if you're unable to not have one simply start focusing on using your front foot as control. It's actually going to help your actual riding too because if you're having trouble with only one foot on the lift, I will guarantee your technique is off when both feet are strapped in.
My point exactly. Except you were much more thorough, articulated and technical... good job.

It takes one fall in a lift line or getting off a lift because your rear foot slipped off a slippery top sheet to mess up your knee or break your tailbone and end your season. And they make navigating the bunched up crowds at the top of the runs easier.

Crab Grab rails are the best thing ever, I can ride switch off the lift if I need to and they come in teal which goes with everything. EVERYTHING.

I did exactly that. Didn't use stomp pads, sharp berm coming off the lift, slipped my foot and my body rotated but my board didn't. Lost half a season because of that. I wouldn't ride without one now. Not worth losing ride days to avoid sticking a few small metal buttons on my board.

If i'd have known those crab rails came in that teal I would have opted for those instead! I just have one burton button thing at each end like your crab rails.

Personally, I went years and years without riding with a stomp pad - I just figured if I was slipping around on the board, I needed to double-down on my balance game.

But then Crab Grab comes out with their shit, and I, for some reason, feel the need to support a company that is probably doing ridiculously well.

I rock Crab Grabs on all my boards, these days - except I use them differently: I put them probably a little closer to my front foot than my back, and use it as a kick pad to get snow off the bottom of my boot, before strapping in (it's almost superstitious - I MUST kick snow off my back foot before strapping in, otherwise things won't feel right for the entire run).

Ha I'm the same dude. I always kick my heel twice to make sure the snow is off each and every time I strap up.

Even if I didn’t slap them on because I just like them I would use them. Less scratches on the top sheet and much more comfortable on the T bar. Especially when riding with others. That I can comfortably put my weight on my back foot for a while to take some stress of my front leg is also nice when it gets steeper.

The clear anti-slip tape idea is genius! I ordered some mini crab grab ones the other day, but will likely get the clear tape too just to put on some of the board as a safety. Hope to not have to use it, but will be nice to have it there in case I do need it!
