There is a nice roller on schoolmarm. They put one of those dumb traffic fences across it last season. The one good thing is when they take it down for night skiing. Since it gets sprayed so much, natural booters form and they are the best poppers.

I don't drop nothing if I can't see what I am going to land into. You need a spotter if your going to bomb and not look. Don't depend on people having common sense. I can't just ride over a roller. I look out for everyone on the mountain and don't blindly drop stuff.

I can get a lot of air and I take a lot of precautions to avoid everyone. I fucking hate people and don't want them near me on the mountain. They stress me out. I really hope it snows a lot so I can be in my natural environment and avoid everyone.

Looking out for people ahead is 101 and if people ahead are fuckin' up, it's your job to skool 'em so they learn and don't get seriously hurt!

how's Key been, besides irritating traffic fences?

look out for the idiots and stay in the park imho. Keystone is designed super terrible so that there is a maximum amount of traffic on all runs at all times. Careful taking a snowboard at even moderate speeds thru those gates, keystone's ski patrol is anti-boarder.

they have 600 average blue runs and a great park.

try not to die there. :(

haha, I will definitely try. If you guys stop seeing me on the forum, you'll know I went riding @ Keystone.

i somewhat disagree but lets leave it there
Sorry man, you need to pay attention to where you stop on the trails. Nothing is more annoying than someone standing on or right by a feature, especially if it's the only redeeming factor on an otherwise shitty groomer. Just how it goes.

went riding @ Keystone today and didn't die!!! WOOHOO!

Some cool pics w/ sponger606 who had his GoPro handy and was able to capture these stills and my buddy KoopaTroopa who is thinkin bout joining the forums!

Keystone has snowboarders on their ski patrol. Those people that stand around the signs and gates are yellow jackets. Ski Patrol sometimes does this. I don't think either parties are anti boarder, but I do think they profile. They do tend to go after the more punker, snow rat type or bro bras skier and riders. These people look faster to the yellow jackets. When I had terrible looking patched stained outerware I swear the yellow jackets would whistle at me more and I would get stopped more.

A couple of days ago I saw a mom and 2 kids standing right under this very steep drop off to the left of Spring dipper. I should of said something to the mom. They were being those idiots. In the skiers code you are not suppose to stop where you are not visable, but I would still feel terrible if I hurt 2 little children and a mother. I was going to jump off the drop off but saw them.

i cant wait for more resorts to open so I dont have to deal with this! this guy would've been in serious shit if i moved to to left a little.
i shot this today as i was taking a quick break at Abasin. dont get me wrong its pretty sick but why does it have to be in arms length of other riders

Oh my god his pants are actually between the binding and the boot...

AND I FUCKING QUOTE "Snowboarders have no place on my mountain" Craig Simson head of Keystones Ski Patrol to me nearly 5 years ago. He is still there, he still heads up the mountain safety, and he still hates snowboarders.

Keystone definitely has a bias against boarders. Finn from Bomber bindings had a legendary meeting with Craig Simson. He got the same anti snowboard response from Craig. If anyone knows Finn, he is a pretty mellow, reasonable guy. There was no need for Craig's attitude. Fuck Keystone.

I have a high number of days at Keystone. Like 800.

Keystone's Ski Patrol never bother me. One time a ski patroller busted me for ducking a rope into a closed run and gave me a stern lecture. I actually listened and he had valid points for me not to be going into a closed run. He let me go and another person who did the same thing. We both reacted calmly and were friendly towards the patroller. I have been carted down by Ski Patrol. Sometimes they tell me to slow down.

Are the snowboard patrollers at Keystone self loathing snowboarders? I doubt it. Not all mountains allow snowboarders in ski patrol. I know some ski patrollers who are cool and not dicks. This one guy sounds like a d-bag, but I never even hear of him.

I don't like the person who decides where to put the fences and no jumping signs. I don't like mountain watchers, they are the anti fun police. They are not good at noticing who are riding and skiing responsibly. It took like 5 off them to catch me when I was unintentionally sending them on a wild goose chase years ago. I did not know they were after me and once I did I tried to get away. I also got a warning for a foot of air from those yellow shit heads.

20-year-old skier killed at Keystone | 9news.com
Ride there this year, and then when you think about it this summer your gonna facepalm and be like jesus h christ i'm never going back to that shithole disney mountain again.

I'll go back for a51 laps but w/e its a deathtrap.

Just observe the volume of people screaming down roped off hardpack blue runs. its basically been a luge course for the last 2 years with tree walls instead of ice walls.

To be fair everyone has to keep in mind how fast we are going and to be careful. A good friend of mind who is an expert skier hit something weird in flat light this morning and broke his collarbone in 2 places and is all jacked up. He regularly clocks over 70mph, and figures he was doing close to 50 when he fell. How many people are we watching at keystone doing 35mph+ who you know for sure have an insignificant fraction of the experience and skill of a seasoned expert?

RIP Keystone Daredevils.

Holy shit I was there Wednesday night and Frenchman was the 1st run we did. I remember the next lift up someone told us they closed it but wasnt sure why...now I know, pretty eerie. The snow was super fast that night for sure but the runs were all pretty wide, I wonder how she ended up in a tree?
